If you’re a keen Munro-bagger or want to bag your first Munro, then Ben If you’re a keen Munro-bagger or want to bag your first Munro, then Ben More is a great one that is conveniently on the West Coast 200 route. It is no wonder that the Gaelic term for Ben More, A' Bheinn Mhòr, translates to ‘The Great Mountain’.
When summiting Ben More, most people include Stob Binnein into the route too. The shortest route for these two covers a distance of under 10 kilometres and will take around 4.5 hours with ascents of 1347 metres. This is a shorter route, but it is an unrelenting uphill ascent to begin with.
Another, arguably, more pleasant route covers just under 15 kilometres and takes an hour longer than the shorter route. It has ascents of 1564 metres but uses easier slopes with gentler inclines.
There is a stone marker at the top of the summit. It is a must to have your photograph taken there so you can brag about your Munro bagging and celebrate your achievement of reaching the top.
